Arbre Forest Industries Training and Careers Hub

A group of Year 9 and 10 students recently participated in an engaging and hands-on out learning session at the Arbre Forest Industries Training and Careers Hub Hope St Invermay. The visit offered a unique opportunity to explore career pathways in Tasmania’s forest industry.

Students began their day by using a forestry simulator, where they learned how to operate an excavator in a safe and controlled environment. This interactive experience helped them understand the precision and skill required in modern forestry operations.

The group then visited a site, where they observed a range of forestry machinery in action. This real-world exposure allowed students to see how technology and equipment are used in sustainable forest management and harvesting.

The visit sparked curiosity and enthusiasm among students, many of whom expressed interest in learning more about careers in forestry, machinery operation, and environmental stewardship.

Arbre offer a School Forestry Work Experience Program

• A 3-day immersive experience tailored for Year 10 students. 
• Introduces participants to various career paths in the forest industry.
• Includes site visits, practical activities, and engagement with industry professionals.

A year 10 student completed the program last week.  The experience broadened their understanding of the industry and now they have applied for the Australian School Based Traineeship in Cadet Forester Program for 2026.
